Books you like to read...
Does anyone here like to read? I'm ashamed to say that I've not read anything since last year, but I'm usually an avid reader. How about we share our fave books?
Right, some of my all time faves are:
She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb
Quite a slow-paced read, kind of coming of age, written in first-person it is the story of a girl called Delores. What puts an interesting twist is that it is written by a man. I was completely gripped, and as the story unfolds you begin to understand Delores and her foibles, and the reason she is why she is and why she does the things that she does. Highly recommend.
Notes on a Scandal - Zoe Heller
I've not seen the film yet, a little bit scared to as I enjoyed the book so much - although agree Judy Dench perfect as the part of Barbara (not too sure about Cate tho')...The book is a triumph I think...you become embroiled in the mind of Barbara you kind of lose yourself. Well worth a read imo
Anything by Lisa Jewell - all so funny!! Ralph's Party and Thirty Nothing are my faves - no synopsis to follow, suffice to say if you fancy a laugh then read! All books set in Uk though...
So come on, share your favourites!
